NHPC CMD highlights critical importance of dams in India's water management

New Delhi: Shri R. K. Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of NHPC, during the “92nd ICOLD Annual Meeting & International Symposium” being held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, delivered his inaugural speech. He highlighted the critical importance of dams in India's water management and energy generation.

Later, Shri Chaudhary chaired a panel discussion on the theme "Dams and People” where representatives of Romania, USA, Slovenia, Japan and India presented case studies on the topic.

Shri Chaudhary also visited the NHPC pavilion, which highlighted the company's expertise in dam construction. Accompanying him were senior NHPC officials, including Executive Directors Shri U. S. Sahi, Shri V. K. Saini, Shri Suprakash Adhikari, Shri Rajneesh Agarwal and Shri Vivek Dwivedi.
